Kitchen

We have decided to (after 15 years) to take the plunge and re-do the kitchen. New cabintets, counters, new built-in pantry, moving the fridge and some cabinets. It started with the removal of the wallpaper. It was a long time coming. And, I know everyone says wallpaper is making a come back, but it will NOT come back to this house.

I've been having fun looking at paint (fun may not be the word, because it is proving to be more challenging than I thought), light fixtures, faucets, etc.

My husband took down the old pantry and that was a lot of work.

Here are a few pics of what we've started and the light fixtures I have coming. Round one, with two of the pendants next to it.

I plan on photographing as we go along, I just want it to start!

Mother-in-law helping take it down. She put it up, so she helped take it down.

Friends

This is my idea of "girls night out". Went to friends house with our group of friends. No bars, no getting dressed up, just great friends together. It was way too long since we got together. It's great to just eat, drink, catch up and laugh (alot). I am so lucky to have them in my life. We all need our girlfriends. I took this, so no pic of me.

Weekend In Indiana/Baseball Tournament

This weekend we went to Indiana for a bb tournament. Unfortunately #5's team was 0 and 4; our 18 U team was 2 and 2. We did get to play at some great places like Purdue University and St. Joseph College. Of course I got sunburned and we spent a lot of time going in and out of the different time zones. Crazy state, you could be in Eastern time on one side of the field and go to the other side and be in Central. And yes, that actually happened to me. I took some pictures of the religous icons around the campus of St. Joseph College.

It was a good first outing for our teams, we stayed at a very nice Marriott Courtyard, but I am always happy to get home.

Here are some randmom pics of the trip.

Day 1, Part 2

Maybe now it should be "Day 0".

Well, this was it. Left NR with some bittersweet emotions. Did find out a few of my friends from there got jobs back at NR. I will miss everyone very much, and hope to continue the friendships I have made from there.

It's still hasn't totally sunk in yet. I think I need a few days to unwind and destress. Trip to Indiana this weekend for a tournament for #5 just might do the trick. Although staying home alone could be even better. Haven't decided yet.

Thanks to all my friends (the few that actually read this) that kept up with my countdown and ranting and ravings and just silly quotes. I will try and keep posting on fun and creative things I am doing. Thanks to J for giving me the inspiration to do this and being a great friend.

Day 1, Part 1

Woke up this moring and it hit me, this is it. Don't know what is in store for the day, but I'll see when I get there. Can't believe this is my last time going in. Wish me luck and I will report back later.

We'll see which way the wind blows today.

Day 2/Sandwich

To quote my father (he actually said my grandmother said this all the time):

"Life is a sandwich of shit - everyday you have to take a bite whether you like it or not!"

That's all I can say for today. Tomorrow is the LAST DAY EVER at NR and after today, I can't wait.

Day 3

Last Monday of work. Got a lot done, but there's more to do by Wednesday.

Received this e-mail message from a good friend of mine and it made me smile. The pic is for her!!!!!!!!!

Have a good day!"

Day 4

Day 4 down. Last day for the kids. Cried just a little. Now the next three days will be filled with alot of hustling to get the end of year stuff done. Still can't believe it's here.

Today's pic is of me and my two buds. C & P. Couldn't have done any of this without them. We were a great team. I will miss working with both of them so much.

Day 5

Today was the last full day of school. Starting to get a little emotional. Met a displaced secretary that came to school this afternoon to check out NR to see if she wanted my job. Wasn't as weird as last year. She was quite nice. She kept aplogizing, but it didn't bother. Hope she takes it. Told her it will be a great place to work "next year". Trying to convince myself to "let it all go" and not worry about what I leave behind or don't get done, but the next few days will be crazy!

Today's pic is the front cover of our yearbook. Bought one for a rememberance of my last year at NR.

Day 6

Wednesday that feels like Tuesday. Tomorrow is the last full day of school for the students. Getting very anxious about everything, just need to......let it all go and hope I make it!
