More about #5

Good thing #5 doesn't read his mom's blog.  He probably wouldn't like that most of it is about him.  He had his first high school pratice yesterday, and then went  to hit later.  This morning he and my husband woke up and went to hit again.  Hope this doesn't back fire and he gets too into it that it messes with his head.  Oh well, time will only tell.  But..........he is really pumped to be the best he can be, and that is all any of us can do or ask of our kids.

Keep it up #5, your mom (and grandparents, who think he is the best) are very proud of you.  My dad made an intresting comment before we knew he made the team.  He said, "who is the great basketball player we know?  Michael Jordan of course, well he did not make his high school basketball team and as cut from his baseball team, and look what he did".  So it just goes to show, not all coaches know what they are doing and if you work hard for something you will achieve it.

Here is one of my favorite baseball quotes from a great baseball player, Cal Ripken Jr., and it certainly describes #5:

"Stubborness is usually considered a negative, but I think tha trait has been a postive for me".
-Cal Ripkin Jr.
